Coming Out Of Our Pants! Booyahkasha! [Mar. 20th, 2006|04:21 pm]
[music |Franz Ferdinand-What You Waiting For?]

SECRET PANTS are "Coming Out Of Their Pants!"

March, our old friend, you came in like a lamb, but no doubt you will leave like a lion of great ferocity....because SECRET PANTS' "Coming Out Of Their Pants" Tour is coming to a town near you! (Hopefully you live near Philly, or this was an erroneous, poorly thought out, shortsighted claim.) Much like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did in the summer of 1990, those cool cats in Secret Pants are coming out of something, it just so happens that we are not mutant turtles at war with Shredder and the Foot Clan, and consequently don't possess shells, but alas, we do wear pants(!!!). If we were, I would undoubtedly call dibs on being MichaelAngelo, AKA the "party dude". Yet I digress. Come one and all and catch SECRET PANTS performing live sketches, and showing some brand spanking new video sketches, and maybe we'll learn a little something along the way. After consulting with our friends at Wikipedia, we have discovered that performing multiple shows allows you to call said shows a "tour". So we shall. Movin' on up! SECRET PANTS merchandise will be on sale at all stops, so bring your food stamps!

All grown up with many places to go... [Mar. 14th, 2006|02:54 pm]
[music |The Decemberists-Los Angeles, I'm Yours]

Oh, how I neglect you, LiveJournal. I admit, you were an accident. Me and your mom, well, ya know... So much radness has occured, and it will all get glazed over in an act of laziness by me here right now.

-I moved. I live with my best friend in Fort Washington, PA, just outside of Philly. I love it. I can walk to Wawa and eat crap at 2AM. I stay up late and watch TV with my best friend, who used to live up the street, now he lives in the next room. Then I sleep in and wake up without the aid of an alarm. It's awesome. We have already had numerous house guests. I subscribed to Rolling Stone with the name of "Lee Harvey Oswald", and the first edition came yesterday. I'm still laughing. It's the little things that amuse me. We have a balcony, which serves as my weather channel. Now I need a real job. Blah, I was quite enjoying having my weeks to myself to aimlessly wander the internet and explore our new area.

-There's lots of new music out that I am enjoying right now. At the risk of being judged, and being potentially labeled "scenester" or "emo"...I am currently partying on a healthy diet of Panic! at the Disco, Cascada, Bloc Party, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Death From Above 1979, and the new OK GO and Franz Ferdinand. Better yourself and get on downloading, and special mention to the video for OK GO's "A Million Ways". All hail YouTube! Been doing lots of reading too, actually... Belushi's biography written by his wife was tremendous, and now I am almost finished with "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs" by Chuck Klosterman. Bunch of funny pop culture essays. I don't know how long it has been since I read two consecutive non-wrestling books.

-Wrestling is swimming along nicely. The mighty Tag World Grand Prix came and went. Excellent shows, good times, very tiring weekend, but absolutely CHIKARA at its finest. DVD's are available this very second at www.smartmarkvideo.com. Had a rousing batch of visitors at casa de awesome, including Darin Corbin, Ryan Cruz, Arik Cannon, DVD Joey, Sarah, Christine, Rain, and Val. I even had another human being sleep in my new bed with me simultaneously, so it would stop making fun of me. It might have even been a girl.

I returned for my third trip to England. Always amazing experiences. Sterling James Keenan, Austin Aries, and I slept well knowing we were the coolest guys at the bar in Doncaster. Hung out with a very sick Colt Cabana, and I now appreciate the HEAT that is "Caliente" Ricky Reyes. Got to referee for Rhino and 2 Cold Scorpio, and met some very cool fans. British fans are crazy! Can't wait to return in May.

Last weekend, my prized vehicle, the "turquoise champion" set sail for Detroit Rock City, via White Plains, NY. Had a nice dinner with BarbieHead, Excalibur, and WildCards. Just like old times, hadn't seen BJ Marciano for over a year. Eddie Kingston trademarked his idea of a strip club/laser tag combination palace of fun. Watch out for those. Ex, King, and I met up with Larry Sweeney and drove out for some IWF goodness. Post show IHOP-ery with JJ and Joshua, and we're right back to Philly. Because we love wrestling? No, because we're stupid. Staying real busy, with Indianapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Cleveland, Alabama, and maybe even some west coast-ness on the calendar. Stay tuned. Return to IWA after a two month break this very weekend! My short attention span has concluded this round of typing. Leave me some lovin'!

(no subject) [Feb. 21st, 2006|05:29 pm]
[music |Cascada-Everytime We Touch]

Hey there. Sorry for the delay. I've been moving and lack internet. Moving, yeah. I'm a grown up now because I have a double bed. Wanna sleep in it with me? I am taking applications, because thusfar my new bed thinks I am a loser. Cuddling is a prerequisite. We also have a balcony. Our apartment complex seems to be predominantly elderly people, however, many of them seem to be deaf. Party on, us.

In the meantime, there was a snowstorm that made it nearly impossible to fly to Chicago for SHIMMER. We did make it, and Chipotle was waiting for us. Life was good. Got to hang out with SDR a while, and it's official. She comes out to the Final Countdown and she is awesome. Back in Philly, and there was a student showcase show at the Arena. STF(U), bitches! Theeeeen, on Thursday, I saw Electric Six live and it was amazing. It was entirely dancetastic. Their entire set was a party. Highly recommended. Directly after that, I drove to Canada with Claudio Castagnoli, and the Sweet and Sour birthday boy. It was windy. It was cold. We cruised the Niagara Falls strip, and moved along to Toronto. Kindereggs! Didn't have much time, but rocked the Eaton Centre Mall, or as I call it, the world's largest greenhouse. Made our UWA debuts. Great guys, incredible setup, rabid fans, lots of fun. Sexcited to return on March 24. Slept 3 across a king sized bed, and we were off to Pittsburgh. Sooo cold, reminding me why Pittsburgh is one of my least favorite cities. Sorry, guys. I really should have described these things in more detail, but my internet time is precious.

Tag World Grand Prix this weekend! I will have my cherry-popping guests at my place, and they are obviously very important people, because I wouldn't just hand this distinction out. Fortunate enough to be headed back to England the weekend after that...staying busy! Drop me a line, and thanks for reading...

Being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up.... [Jan. 31st, 2006|09:39 am]
[music |OK GO-A Million Ways]

So yeah, I have officially begun the moving process. Calling strangers, surveying Craigslist, touring houses, filling out applications, background checks, oh my! This isn't university housing, this is like being an *gasp* adult! What seems like numerous minor pains in the ass now will yield one giant bachelor pad of fun and awesomeness, but that is a way down the road. If you know of any 3 bedroom townhouses in the greater Philadelphia area, by all means, send them along my way. The actual act of moving is going to suck as well, as I have to move ALL my worldly belongings out of my parents house, as I will be unable to maintain a seasonal residence there. Becoming a street vagabond is sounding more and more appealing. I also need to pull up a chair, and prepare to watch the savings I have accrued over the past 9 months dwindle FAST. $2000 security deposits, what? Sorry to whine, I promise to come on here and be happy once we're all moved in. Party palace!

It seems to me that MySpace is swallowing up LiveJournal, Facebook, and all other assorted online geek timewasters. LJ was the place to be a year ago, nowadays no one posts... Everyone's hitching their wagon to the MySpace parade, welcome aboard Trik Davis and Arik Cannon. Now all we need is one Swiss Money Making Man, and MySpace will officially be perfect.

Today is my grandma's 81st birthday, and chances are she's cooler than most of you. No offense intended, she's just pretty radical. Where do we go for dinner tonight? Hoss's! Old people love Hoss's! It's seriously the only place my grandma ever wants to eat out anymore, every birthday, like clockwork...

My opinion on this tends to change on a weekly basis, but this week, girls are dumb. I am beginning to believe that nice guys do finish last. I might as well run for the mayor of the "friend zone", because I can't seem to leave it. Blah. They don't deserve this. *grabs crotch* There, that's what I need to do, get an edge, chicks dig badasses.

And then there's this:

9) Pro Wrestling ELITE-1/28/06-Boonton, NJ
30. Josh Abercrombie pinned CJ Otis to retain the IWA MidSouth Lightheavyweight Title.
31. Ranmaru pinned Sumie Sakai.
32. Chris Hero pinned Eddie Kingston.
33. Harry Smith pinned Chris Hero.

Got to spend some east coast time with my lower midwest boyfriend, Josh Abercrombie. He just so happened to fall off his chair at a diner while the camera was rolling. The waitress didn't seem to care whatsoever, so when it comes time to order, Josh orders "chicken fingers platter with a side of embarassment". Swooooooooooooooon. Also watched some football with the Necro Butcher. Life doesn't get any better than this. Take it sleazy, LiveJournal...

8. IWA MidSouth-1/21/06-Midlothian, IL

28) Necro Butcher lasted 5 European Rounds with Chris Hero and then defeated him.
29) Arik Cannon pinned Jimmy Jacobs to win the IWA MidSouth Heavyweight Title.

Yeah, that's that. I got some gay porn for my belated birthday. It's currently residing under the deepest darkest depths of under my bed-ness, so my parents don't find it, and we have to have an awkward coversation. This weekend is the debut of PW Elite in the bustling metropolis of Boonton, NJ, and some World-1 action on Sunday. February's shaping up nicely too, SHIMMERing, UWA debut in TORONTO!!!, and Tag World Grand Prix 2k6 style.

Thanks to those who wished me and my leg a speedy recovery... I'm back to unenviable horseshit task of looking for houses to rent. Yee-haw!

You can call us Aaron Burr from the way we're dropping Hamiltons.... [Jan. 17th, 2006|01:52 pm]
[music |Kaiser Chiefs-Everyday I Love You Less and Less]

2006 is off to quite a start... I was on a 6 show in 8 days rampage, and spent 4 days in Sweet Home Chicago. Logged quite a few airplane miles as well. Now, back to work, ho hum. Nonetheless, if the first couple weeks of this here year are any indication, everything is coming up funtimes. I'm gonna try this new way of updating this year, which should force me to keep up on my matchlog and whatnot. The first number is the number show for the year, the other number is the amount of matches I have reffed this year. See below.

On Thursday, January 5, I found out Tracy Smothers and Jerry Lynn were on my pond-hopping flight, so I knew no wrong could come to me. Tried to watch Wedding Crashers on the plane, but succumbed to sleep. I did get a good bit of reading done. I tore through Shawn Michaels biography, and now I have started the John Belushi biography written by his wife. Go go birthday presents! With the years and experience of the guys on these shows, you would have to be a tree to not learn anything. I'm on a bus with Al Snow, Tracy Smothers, Jerry Lynn, Steve Corino, Chris Hamrick, Jeff Jarrett, etc., and that's easily 100 years in the business combined right there. Also excited to work with Potter again.

British fans are insane, and incredibly passionate, as 1700 of them sold out the DOME. Went to ASDA, which is British for Wal-Mart, and bought myself some KinderEggs. What are they, you ask? Wellll, they are chocolate eggs with toys inside. Pretty cool, huh? Banned in the United States, I guess because our children are stupid enough to choke on them and such. Another cool thing about England are the warnings on the side of packs of cigarettes. Instead of the miniscule Surgeon General's Warning we have here, Brits have "SMOKING KILLS", or "SMOKERS DIE YOUNGER" in giant letters on the side of the packs. Genius! Also took in some excellent British music via confiscated IPOD, some I had heard before, some I had not....AND found out what a slag is. Pillow fights in the hotel elicit huge smiles from this bloke. I think I may have a crush on Spud, too. All in all, another excellent trip which I am very fortunate to be a part of. Treated tremendously across the board, and madd ups to Kingdom, Joseph, Steven, Rick, and the whole crew. Can't wait to return in March.

From England straight through to Chicago... Spending a week in the Second Windy City on Planet Sarah. We, in a state of groggy, head off to the NeoFuturists "Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind", which I believe is a Chicago-only concept. They do 30 plays in an hour, mostly comedic. It's a different show every night, interactive, affordable, and very entertaining. I'd recommend checking them out if the opportunity presents itself. Monday was sleep catch up, followed by a whirlwind tour of Chicago fun with Meg along for the ride. Billy Goat Tavern? (cheeseburger, cheeseburger) Check. LEGO store, Chipotle, ESPN Zone? Check, check, and check. Ragstop clothing store? Yes, and highly recommended. Millenium Park at night was beautiful. I took some postcard-esque pictures that may or may not come out. Chicago is a city I can see myself living in, even if the girls all wear those weird boots with the fuzzies and have apathetic looks on their cute faces. Q101 cancels that out. Regardless, I am a GOD of the CAT, and the CTA. Tuesday night my stepfather Trik Davis assumed custody of me, and we went to the mally-bling, and a tremendous music store called Rolling Stones. Get it? Like the band AND the magazine. Clever to the tenth power! Wednesday was Robles' birthday celebration, got to hang out with Prazak, yay!

Thursday was IWA action in Midlo. Joe vs. Necro round 2, wheeeeeeeeee, and Jimmy Jacobs' hand introduced himself to my ballsack, and it wasn't a pleasant meeting. Kissed Josh Abercrombie on the forehead because we're cool like that. Met up with the CHIKARA crew of Hero, Claudio, King(he likes when you call him that in public), and Sweeney. I learned that driving 45 minutes up the good old Dan Ryan beats 12 hours in a car. Note to self. Off to Detroit Rock City in the snow, and if driving in the snow had a fan club, I would NOT be in it. I am calmed by fun text messages and a Swiss style backrub. Wink, wink. I think Detroit is latin for "ghettofied hellhole". IWF debut for us, haven't seen Eddie Venom or Jaimy Coxxx in frickin' forever... No Brian Gorie though. *tear* Surprise appearance by one Bryan Danielson. If you ever watch this show on tape, be sure to watch Chris Hero's ring entrance. I promise you will not be disappointed. Mwhahaha! Steak'n'Shook, and then a longer snowy drive to Philadelphia. I slept through most of this, to be honest, a portion on Claudio's shoulder, which makes quite a pillow. Arrived at Casa de Hero in time to take a 90 minute nap in Claudio's car, which is the only place you can stay out of "trouble"...

Saturday was a historic wrestling day in the historic wrestling city of Philadelphia. CZW afternoon throwdown, which was rather well attended, and had me doing a doubletake to make sure Bryan Danielson was really standing in a CZW ring in the ECW Arena. Headed up I-95 for the ROH portion of the day. Crowd was large and very into the action all night. Reffed on the preshow. For the main event, I was sent by CZW, and forced by Chris Hero to keep an eye on ROH Senior Official Todd Sinclair, make sure no funny business occurs. I also stood inside a ROH ring with the Necro Butcher. (!!!) Read that last sentence again for emphasis. I had a lot of fun being a part of all of this, and it's funny what can happen when promoters team up, as opposed to ripping posters down, etc. It was a very fulfilling weekend. Weather sucked donkey balls after the show, and we finally made it to Collegeville Diner, said goodbye to the midwest mobile, and I was in bed by 5AM. Exhale. I went bowling on Sunday and bowled 4 strikes in a row. So there.

Back to IWA-land AGAIN this weekend for shows in Plainfield, IN and Midlothian, IL. It's like Groundhog Day. I also have some Undeclared: The Complete Series to watch, thanks to Joey... From livejournal, I am signing off...

Best....New....Year....EVER [Jan. 4th, 2006|09:45 am]
[music |Men Without Hats-Moonbeam]

I sit here very content right now. For as lackluster as Christmas was, New Year's was stupendous. The best ever. I will always remember where I was when 2006 started. No one in LiveJournal land seems to care when I talk about non-wrestling affairs, so I will attempt to keep it brief, but I would be remiss if I did not share at all.

When I was a kid, New Year's Eve was always a big deal in my house. Dick Clark and me. Glued to the TV. Part of what landed me in a Telecommunications program at college. I want to perform. This year, my comedy troupe took on a HUGE undertaking, a show on the biggest party night of the year. Leading up to the show, utter chaos reigned. Ticket advances were not pretty, and rehearsals were a work in progress, all the way until the day of the show. We didn't even get to run through the show with all the technical stuff. Forecasts of a trainwreck ran rampant. But not so, said the comedy gods. The kids of Secret Pants came through in the clutch. 205 attendance paid, and a smooth show. Not one complete stinker of a skit. People were laughing, people were merry. We filmed the show very professionally. Afterwards, I got to host the countdown to midnight on stage. Confetti. Balloons dropping from the ceiling. Champagne. Just like on TV. Just like Dick Clark. Dreams come true.

Once that incredible weight was lifted off of our shoulders, it was time to party... DJ Sparkle Groove spun some killer early 1980's goodness. I chugged an entire bottle of sparkling apple juice. That will get you some funny looks while driving ...mwhahaha! The afterparty moved on and included fireworks, freakout dance party '06, and two 18 year old girls? Not what it sounds like. No sleep until 6AM. Copious amounts of alcohol, needless to say, were consumed. The par-tay bus rolled right over to New Year's Day. Philadelphia has a tradition called the Mummers parade. It's like Cirque Du Soleil come to life. Crazy, extravagant colorful costumes all over the place. The best part is that under those costumes, it is predominantly overweight South Philly badass Italian men. Mafia connections. Anyhow, my friend Paul's parents rent a hotel room that looks right over Broad St. and the parade every year, and we were all invited up to watch the parade from the 10th floor. Totally awesome. Open bar again...yikes! We sailed down paper airplanes containing cryptic messages, and when the adult figures left pillow fights and bed jumping ran supreme. Grabbed some food, and it was off in search of karaoke. More difficult than you think on New Year's Day, where all is quiet says U2. We did create our own party at a bar, then sing karaoke with the help of the ON Demand thingie. Then I fell asleep watching Pete & Pete Season 1 on DVD. We're rockstars.

Thanks to all involved, rarely does something non-wrestling bring me so much joy. Some members of the wrestling community attended the show, and that means a lot, for serious. I couldn't ask for a better troupe, or group of friends...and I wish I had more time to spend with them. Now I am at work, for a mere 3 days, for I am off to England tomorrow night for some 1PW action. I am on a streak of sleeping in my own bed 3 out of 18 nights in a row... Not too shabby. Luckily, I do like to travel.

As for now? Imma party with bacardi like it's my birthday, we don't give a fuck because it's my birthday. Thanks to all the wellwishers!

"It's a great day to be alive in 2005."-Tracy Smothers [Dec. 28th, 2005|01:15 pm]
[music |Mr. Mister-Broken Wings(radio at work, don't judge!)]

2005 was quite the plentiful year. I managed to do lots of cool things. I will probably acquire the motivation to do that neato year in review thing all the kids are doing on LiveJournal sometime next week. 2006 looks to be starting on the up and up...with the Secret Pants New Year's show, and a trip to England for me next weekend, then right to Chicago for week o' fun. One of these days I will have a real job, and such extravangance won't be possible. As for now, this guy is living it up.

Apparently the crazy people at the Wendy's corporation are running a deal where if the consumer saves 64 coupons found on the sides of medium or large sized cups, they will earn a free airplane ticket anywhere in the continental United States. Naturally, I put out the all call to the friends/family/coworkers to save these. That just wasn't cutting it. I am impatient. So, yesterday, myself and my fellow coworkers compromised all of our self worth and decided to root through the dumpsters of two of our local Wendy's. Dirty looks were exchanged, clothes smelled like ass, and "icky" face was made, but 150 retrieved cups later... guess who is flying to Los Angeles for free? This guy. Now we are working on a second ticket, Vegas, mayhaps? God bless you Dave Thomas, and God bless the nice folks at AirTran. I'll be sure to toast you as I lay on the beach of the Pacific Ocean.

Off to Philly tonight, crazy rehearsal-ness starts and lasts until Saturday. If you can read this, and will be anywhere near Philadelphia on Saturday night, I promise an entertaining night. A rock and roll band, an exotic DJ, me making out with a female on stage, games, alcohol, party, come on! Tickets are on sale at www.northstarbar.com, and info is at www.secretpants.net. But you don't have to take my word for it, just listen to what the Philadelphia Weekly newspaper had to say today:

"Secret Pants - Sat., Dec. 31, 9pm. $10-$15. With Rebel Saints and DJ Chetana. North Star, 27th and Poplar sts. 215.684.0808. www.northstarbar.com

Despite being a sketch comedy actor and writer, Secret Pants troupe member Brian Kelly is a man laboring under little illusion. He knows it takes a certain amount of chutzpah to stage a comedy show on one of the biggest party nights of the year. "Everybody wants to get drunk and party," explains Kelly, "and everybody wants to dance." Kelly reveals some rather cheeky working titles for this performance, including the very appropriate Suck It, 2005. Boogie Down, 2006. So in addition to their planned hilarity, which will include oodles of audience participation and the actual murder of Old Man 2005, the Secret Pants crew have enlisted the help of Bombay to Brazil DJ/beloved "woman about town" Chetana Borah. "We pretty much told her she could spin whatever she wants, as long as it includes some Prince," Kelly says. After selling out their first Khyber performance and rapidly becoming a cult sensation both here and, according to the hits on their website, in Italy, it doesn't seem like Secret Pants have much to worry about as far as attendance goes. (M.S.)"

That is what we call a lame entry, kids. Back to work...catch you on the flip side...

Survey says? Bryce sells out! [Dec. 8th, 2005|01:26 pm]
[music |Tag Team-Whoomp There It Is]

I never do these things, but hey, boredom prevails, so now I am just like you!

1) Was 2005 a good year for you?
Most certainly way more peaks than valleys... I maintained happiness throughout.

2) What was your favorite moment of the year?
Man. One that sticks out was sitting on an airplane about to fly to England for wrestling. Somewhere I never thought I would be.

3) What was your least favorite moment of the year?
This one right now! Back off!!! Geeez!

4) Where were you when 2005 began?
I was in downtown Harrisburg with like 10 or 12 of my friends. A really cool assemblance of people. Filmed some stuff for Secret Pants, watched the strawberry drop, fireworks!, and Eat'n'Park breakfast buffet. We went Polar Bear swimming later in the day. Good times. Tradition.

5) Who were you with?
Whoops, I jumped the gun. My ladyfriend-at-the-time Callie, my best friend Ben, Mikey, Brandonite, Katie, Jared, Ashley, Big Mike and his girlfriend Sarah, and I think Brock was there. There are pictures to check.

6) Where will you be when 2005 ends?
Funny you should ask... Woo-hoo, on stage at a Secret Pants show leading a countdown!

7) Who will you be with when 2005 ends?
The other 11 members of Secret Pants, and anyone who is good enough friends with me to go to my show... No pressure.

8) Did you keep your new years resolution of 2005?
New Year's Resolutions are for commies. I make New Month Resolutions.

9) Do you have a new years resolution for 2006?
If it ain't broke, I'm not fixing it...

10) Did you fall in love in 2005?
Nope. I fell into lust and like though.

11) If yes, with who?
N backslash A

12) If yes, do they know?
The ones I liked knew.

14) Do you regret it?
Question #13 is missing! Screw superstition, I smell conspiracy! What are you trying to pull?

15) Did you breakup with anyone in 2005?
Yeah, I was dating twice I would say. One was mutual, and one was kinda my doing, for better or worse...

16) Did you make any new friends in 2005?
Who goes an entire year without making any friends? Shut-ins? Invalids? I am neither!

17) Who are your favorite new friends?
Hmmm.. Josh Abercrombie.(*hearts*) Sarah with an "H". Darin Corbin and V2. This girl Lauren Regan. She has bonfires, and cracks me up. Bunch of cool kids I met working on Invincible, which is a Disney movie, thankyaverymuch.

18) What was your favorite month of 2005?
April sticks out in my mind. Chicagoland dinner with Candido as part of an awesome weekend in the Buffalo Spirit. Two weeks later first trip to Iowa. Funnest wrestling day ever in Muscatine. Pool wrestling. Karaoke. Weekend after that: trip to Minnesota. Mall of America. Sooo many miles, grew much closer to so many people that month, and met some new ones, namely the aforementioned Sarah.

19) Did you travel outside of the US in 2005?
Yesssirrr. England, Germany, Netherlands in October. My passport looks cooler now.

20) How many different states did you travel to in 2005?
Wowie. Did shows in PA, NJ, DE, IN, IL, OH, MI, WI, MN, IA, NC. I think 15-20 trips to the central time zone. Lots of time in Chicago area second half of the year. Drove through a bunch others, and went to Florida for Spring Break in March. Went to DC in May. Two trips to the Jersey boardwalk. Spent an indescribably rad week in Kalamazoo.

21) Did you lose anybody close to you in 2005?
Yeahhhh. Meh.

22) Did you miss anybody in the past year?
Absolutely. I miss a lot of family/home friends activities for wrestling. This year was sadly no different.

23) What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2005?
I really enjoyed 40 Year Old Virgin, and Wedding Crashers will merit a second viewing.

24) What was your favorite song from 2005?
Hmmm... Hollaback Girl was delightfully inescapable, and yielded many CHIKARA inside jokes. Weezer's "This Is Such A Pity" is amazing too.

25) What was your favorite record from 2005?
I've been stuck on Death Cab's Plans and Weezer's Make Believe.

26) How many concerts did you see in 2005?
Definitely saw Death Cab in Philly. Saw Interpol. Went to see my friend Adam's band. Rilo Kiley with Lisa. I saw a really great comedy show in July too, and Second City in Chicago in October.

27) Did you have a favorite concert in 2005?
Comedy prevails. Zach Galifianakis was incredible. Got to see Mitch Hedberg with Stephen Lynch 2 months before he died in Reading with Hero and Claudio too.

28) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2005?
I can think of these occurences on one hand. One lead to me calling Samantha, a girl in my troupe, a "cheap whore" at the beach. Which lead to me cutting myself off.

29) Did you do a lot of drugs in 2005?
About the same amount as every year.

30) How many people did you sleep with in 2005?
Oh man, you're painting me out to be a slut! I have shared beds with quite a bit of folks, not limited to Hero, Claudio, Icarus, Jimmy Jacobs, Josh Abercrombie, Arik Cannon, Sweeney, Eddie Kingston, etc. I won't lie, I spooned with most of them too. Scandal! There might have been a couple girls too. Details, details...

31) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
Mistakes are uhhh, part of growing up, or something, right?

33) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2005?
Hmmm... I think I told someone bashfully I "stink at karaoke". Ha! Good one, Bryce...

34) Did you treat somebody badly in 2005?
This survey got depressing. Lulled me into a false sense of security, thinking about good times and such....now kablam!

35) Did somebody treat you badly in 2005?
Potentially without knowing it...

36) How much money did you spend in 2005?
Hmm, carry the one, divide by 7, times pi... I dunno! I ended the year with a decent amount, so less than I made. School loans and insurance are fixing to clean house on my account though.

37) What was your proudest moment of 2005?
Graduating college ranks high. Standing on stage by myself at the beginning of our sold out summer Secret Pants show. My knees were literally shaking. Can't remember a time I was more nervous/excited all at once.

38) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2005?
Hmmm... They should put the hard thinking questions at the beginning of the survey when I'm not burnt out. Guess I better make something up! Okay, there was this time where I was about to receive my college diploma, and I tripped and fell on the stage. I was so, like, totally, bright red! OMG! WTF! ROTFL!

39) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2005 and change something, what would it be?
Nothing is jumping out at me. Present and past shape the future. Regret is overrated.

40) What are your plans for 2006?
Maintain busy wrestling schedule whilst hopefully getting new grown up job. Travel to Toronto, LA, and Boston again. Get new states/countries for wrestling. Move into apartment with my best friend. Experience new things and never become complacent. Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver, and the other gold. (Someone please tell me they know that song...)

No one reads the subject line, anyway... [Dec. 6th, 2005|07:06 am]
[music |Billy Idol-Rebel Yell]

Ahhh, that was just the kind of weekend I needed. Nice and relaxing, and far more fun that was expected. The weekends have certainly been the highlights of my life recently, and this one did not disappoint.

12/2/05-ECPW-East Stroudsburg, PA
-This be my ECPW debut, and I was ironmanning for the evening. Verrrry cold drive up, met with Rorschach, and arrive to find the show is at a roller skating rink. There are two rinks, the ring is on one, and on the adjacent rink there are teenagers skating around in circles. Superbly indy. When the show would get quiet, you could hear Kelly Clarkson/Fall Out Boy/Usher random pop whatever-the-kids-are-listening to music. I did achieve a life goal, and reffed for midgets. Amazing. You haven't lived until a midget slaps you, while another one is on all fours behind you to trip you. I may or may have not stolen a Tiffany cassette tape from the DJ booth as well. Perkins food action, with a feisty lil' waitress, and back on home to sleep.

12/3/05-IWC-Oil City, PA
-Meet up with CHIKARA student extraordinare Pineapple Andy and the ICWICWA Texarkana Television Champion Larry Sweeney for our voyage through the mountains, home of no cell phone service, for some IWC action. Made excellent time going up, highlighted by some engaging conversation, and with some time to spare, we investigate the local mall. The choice activity when in a foreign town. There were young christmas carolers singing about Jesus or someone, whatever. Everyone knows the true meaning of christmas is greed. Duh! Also a banging Goodwill, within the mall no less! Cheap chinese food as well. On to the show, which is on a college campus, supposedly. I saw no college age kids at the show. I did see various elements of "Git R Done" memorabilia in the audience. Oh western PA, how I adore thee... Very lively crowd, however...

My first match assignment has Sweet 'n Sour defending his "jabroni" title for the third time against Jason Gory. Sweeney is especially mouthy to me during the course of the match, and wins with a suspected handful of tights. Well, under Texarkana rules, which often seem to benefit Sweeney, his title is defendable (is that a word?) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. While he's gloating post-match, I see my opportunity. I rolled Sweeney up, and via the element of surprise, and my own counting, yours truly is the new champ! Obviously my first title reign. Due to the 24/7 stipulation, I had to be on my toes at all times. The cameraman tried to roll me up at intermission. Not so fast. After intermission, I go to ref another match, and the ring announcer Chuck Roberts jumps me, whips me to the ropes, and I am tripped by Sweeney and pinned. Oh well, he's an 8-time champ, and I am a 1-time loser. Fun while it lasted.

I went on to ref Tommy Dreamer teaming with Fabulous vs. Shannon Moore and Chris Hamrick, which was fun, I had a very nice conversation after the match with Mr. Dreamer, and he complimented my work. Still blushing. Main event time, and it's the Ugandan Giant Kamala vs. "The King" Jerry Lawler. I am a HUGE fan of Andy Kaufman, and being in the ring with Lawler is as close as I will ever get to Andy, so it was a tremendous honor for me. Kamala tried to eat me, but I am too quick. He falls to the mighty second rope fist drop of the King.

Post show, we are told that a sorority party has been lined up, partially in our honor. Holla atcha boy, that's what I'm talking about! Ready with the strong pimp hand, but snow cancels the party and it becomes us going to Eat'n'Park for the midnight breakfast buffet. Not quite the same, but food was tasty. I informed our waitress that the opposite of her restaurant is drink'n'drive. A-ha! The snow leaves us stuck in Clarion, PA, at referee Scooter Dillon's girlfriend's house. Winter 2005 1 point. Ugh. I slept on a tie-dye chair that folded out to a bed. Adequate.

We begin our freezing drive home around noon, and we are joined by Frank, Dean, and Sammy. Rat pack Christmas album, baby! Riding in style! We make good time again, and decide to make a pitstop in Hershey. Sweeney and Pineapple have never experienced Chocolate World or Christmas Candylane. Free chocolate, Sweeney yelling "fuck yeah" with at least 20 children in earshot, Simpsons arcade game, and real live reindeer(!!!). Jealous? You know it! Very lucky for my friends keeping me busy and having me fun over these weekends. Went to see "Walk The Line" last night, and really enjoyed it. The characters are captured perfectly, and Reese Witherspoon gets a 10 on the huggable scale.

Wrapping the year up with Cage of Fun Safety this Saturday, and IWA in Indianapolis and Hammond the weekend after that. Sorry to say, there will be room for me in the car... Can't believe it's end of the year time already. Back to catching T-shirts for the afternoon, and my weekly mundane existence. New Arrested Development tonight, EVERYONE's favorite show.

Special thanks to Miss Cleo for the pictures...

Allegations and Hearsay-ness! [Nov. 29th, 2005|09:31 am]
Courtesy CZWFans.com...

"In what might be taken as a tryout for a future development in the Kings/Blackout feud, due to recent allegations in the storyline that he's a shady ref and is playing favorites towards the side of Hero & Claudio...

Bryce Remsberg debuted as Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli's new manager at AAW tonight, in Berwyn, IL, facing Marek Brave & Tyler Black in a leg of a tag team gauntlet match."

Mr. Remsburg issues the following statement, on behalf of his personal secretary, Brenda:

"Pffffffffffft. The internet! A beacon of truth! This is by far a bigger scandal than that Jimmy Jacobs/IWA hootenanny! I can safely disprove this, as I have never even been to Berwyn, IL, except for a karaoke and free food party held last Saturday. Nor do I even know what AAW stands for! While I do have a tremendous amount of respect for my fellow CZW performers Mr. Hero and Mr. Castagnoli, I would never dream of managing them.

I do understand from a trusted source that they did have a strikingly handsome manager on this evening, who did happen to resemble me. I have seen photographic evidence. His name was Bruno Paychik, and just so you know, it is pronounced Pay-CHIK, not paycheck. It's eastern European, you see. He's rather cultured. In his country, chest hair is a surefire sign of masculinity. My same source informs me that he did an excellent job managing them, despite the defeat, if the mayoral position in Awesomeville was empty, Mr. Paychik could win in a landslide. This is all according to my source. Also, the divorce rate in Berwyn has since skyrocketed, and the dreams of teenage girls in all of the greater Chicago area have forever been changed. The source also mentioned that The Black and the Brave resemble and act like cavemen at times. Especially Tyler Black. Hey, don't shoot the messenger.

I am happy to disprove these rampant allegations, and look forward to officiating the Blackout vs. Hero/Castagnoli CZW Tag Team Title match on December 10 at Cage of Fun/Death the only way I know, impartially. Thank you for your time."

Deuce Shade, Monsieur Pussycat.... [Nov. 21st, 2005|02:09 pm]
[music |SkeeLo-I Wish]

Good times with fun peeps the last two weekends, and I didn't leave the state for wrestling at all. I did voluntarily go to New Jersey for recreational purposes, and left about $15 in the casinos, but all in the name of enjoyment. It was my duty to show Sarah and Jojojoey a fun time. I can only hope I succeeded. CHIKARA season finale was this past weekend, sad to think I won't see some of my friends until February. Leaving for IWA-land tomorrow night, with a detour in Dayton, OH for some Heroic Thanksgiving lovin'. Quad shot of hopefully not doom to follow.

And now a story of stupidity... Yesterday I was driving to IWC with Hero and Sweeney and I spotted one of those vanity plates. In Pennsylvania, for a small fee, you can make your license plate say whatever you want, as long as it is short and not vulgar. Someone had "YOUR IT" on theirs. Haha! What a way to showcase poor english skills. I proceeded to pass him and point and laugh, although he probably had no idea what I was laughing about. I realize I am easily amused... Short entries rule, and I am back to work!

Weekend Update, Stream of Consciousness style... [Nov. 10th, 2005|09:02 am]

[music |OZMA-Restart]

My laziness reaches new depths.

Detroit = shithole/wasteland........ROH main show debut.........Doing the deal with Jimmy Jacobs........Surprise ice cream dinner........Breakfast with American Dragon..........WWE 24/7 = Starrcade '87, yum.........Walking to Chipotle...........Loud rest stop convos.........Beth Phoenix + kiss = smiles..........Involuntary SHIMMER on my face..........Juice? Let's JAMBA!..........Garden State while having my headpet.......Free Pizza Buffet............

That's enough of that. Not even leaving Philly this weekend, CZW and CHIKARA, booyakasha!

I wouldn't comment on this, either...

Lately I am finding that I am the book, and you are the binding... [Oct. 31st, 2005|09:31 am]
[music |Ben Kweller-Family Tree]

I have almost 400 MySpace friends, and I feel that makes me worthwhile in life. Anything internet related is the gauge.

I dyed my hair Jet Travolta black for no particular reason. For those that can't understand the concept of doing things like this for no reason, I tell them I am Elvis for Halloween. Thanks for the timing, calendar. My Halloween activities will include distributing nickels to little cretins tonight at my door.

October was essentially a blur. I was away from home more than I was there. 12 shows in 3 countries, 2 trips to IWA-land. Not complaining, I love it. I will be making 3 trips to the Chicago area in November. Better stake up a new residency. One near Second City so I can train there, and one with WWE 24/7. Two birds, one stone?

Despite the fact that I am wiping my ass with a college degree I worked and paid for, I am more content than I have ever been. Completely happy with where I am at. Love the people I am surrounded by. This gives me very slim motivation to mess with the formula.

The "My Humps" song AND music video may be the greatest multimedia creation ever. Makes for quality car dancing.

I reffed a 104 minute match last weekend, and you didn't.

Let's SHIMMER this weekend!

"Rock Over London, Rock On Chicago"-Wesley Willis [Oct. 18th, 2005|08:53 am]
[mood | full]
[music |Dead Eye Dick-New Age Girl]

Whew! A long, tiring, very fun weekend in the books of midwestern IWA madness! And another 1900 miles on my poor Saturn to boot! 4AM Thursday morning, the five horsemen of myself, Larry Sweeney, Claudio Castagnoli, Chris Hero, and Eddie Kingston depart Reading, PA. That's about 900 pounds of man meat plus me, not to mention so much luggage we needed to enlist the services of Sears X-Cargo Carrier. It's all the rage in travel, flying down the road at 80 MPH with one of those bad boys on your roof. Chick magnets, I tell ya. Due to length of Hero and Claudio's legs, and the girth of Kingston's waist, we end up stopping quite often during the 12 hour journey for our own health. Takes us about 14 hours this time. Kept entertained by Claudio's disc of Top 75 One Hit Wonders of the 1990's. Wow, you haven't lived until you've done the Macarena in a car with 4 other dudes.

Tested out my blind man impersonation at various rest areas in Ohio and Indiana, complete with giant black sunglasses and cane. Some people are real dicks, walking around me, totally avoiding helping a poor "blind" man. One guy helped me right to the urinal. One highlight was chasing after kids' noise with my cane, and Kingston taking the cane from me and teasing me. Random ladies were overheard chastising him. Also wandered into the kitchen of Hardee's, and called a very ugly woman "beautiful". When she asked if she could get me anything else, I responded with "a new pair of eyes". Cue awkward silence. Hehe. On our way out I claimed I would drive, to which stranger lady replied with "wait until I get off the road, haha!" Uncomfortable laughter and a misguided point for her! Alright, you probably had to be there, so use your imagination. Brief, but always delicious trek to Chipotle, and we arrive in Morris, IL, at Jim Fannin's middle school.

Energetic crowd for some Thursday night action. I had the duties of Justin Credible vs. Eddie Kingston, containing lumberjacks in Jacobs vs. Cabana, and Hero vs. Joe. Sooo tired, the only prescription after the show is a milkshake, Steak 'n style. Snuggling with Josh and Mulatto. We trade Claudio to Jimmy for ROH, and Hero to Sarah for PWG, and the reward is an empty backseat for Bryce to sleep in. Arrive at Sweeney's parental unit complex for sleeeeeeeeeeep. Arik Cannon joins me in bed (roar!) but I don't even hear him come in.

Up and at them Friday afternoon and we're off to South Bend, IN with one mission in mind. Two words for ya: Touchdown Jesus. For some reason, there is a 62 foot tall painting of Jesus making the touchdown signal with his arms, and Eddie Kingston is infatuated with seeing it live. Sweeney, Kingston, and I, along with DVD Joey, Trik Davis, and Sarah detoured to Notre Dame's campus to take in this art of beauty. Photo ops. Ginormous pep rally going on, with 80,000 strong in the stadium next door. Random overheard quote, "USC, you may have your trojans, but we have our lady, and we have Jesus!" Can't argue with that, oh wait, you can, Notre Dame lost the next day 34-31. Due to all this hullaballo, they are only 50 or so at the IWA show, but they can't say they weren't entertained. I am the ironman ref for the evening, with 10 matches more under my belt. I don't even know why Eddie Kingston was there, it was a house show after all. At the end of the show, those rascal Thomasellis throw me into the chairs, of which there were plenty of empty ones. Sarah comes to my rescue with some resuscitation, mouth-to-mouth style, doing no favors for her rodent-like reputation.

Perkins food action, and our waitress receives the princess miserable award. We were literally the only people in the entire restaurant, and she was complaining and heehawing about helping us, AKA doing her job. Off to a way crowded bar, so we opt for a less crowded one, where the sausage-to-tail ratio was 4 to 1 at least. I play the math class game. (Works at any college bar... Go up to random drunkard, and say "hey man, remember me! Freshman year, math class, we sat near each other!" 9 times out of 10 this works, and you get a big ugly inebriated hug. I'm easily entertained.) Played HellaGood by No Doubt on the jukebox twice in a row for good measure, and yelled at Sarah a little bit to optimum reaction. Baccccck to Chicago for sleep version Trik's house.

Saturday afternoon featured Totally Tool Wrestling's second venture. Really funny stuff, I thought, any meshing of comedy and wrestling has my interest piqued. I magically lost my sight early in the day and stumbled through the show. Obviously, I didn't see much of it, but pick up the DVD when you can anyway. Marek "the Jew" Brave cured my sight, and all was well in Midlothian. Quizno's, mmmmmmmmmm, back to the building. 9th anniversary show, what I saw was strong, Sweeney retains the ICWICWA Texarkana TV Title on a technicality. The big news would come out of the main event, however... Most of you have read about it, but what the Thomasellis and crew did was heinous. They jumped me, totally unprovoked with a spinebuster and swanton after the match. Dr. Joey Eastman suspects I have a cracked rib, which didn't make for a fun carride home. All in all, I reckon I will have the best seat in the house when they get theirs Thanksgiving night in Hammond.

Slept halfway home, drove the other half, hung out with Claudio when we got back. Then some sleep. Lots of it. Great weekend, made greater by the IWA family. And that's not some cute catchphrase. I see these guys more than most of my relatives. Work sucks, I know, except when I paid to update my livejournal. Back to it for me. NEXT on Thursday, CHIKARA Friday and Saturday. Arik Cannon playtime. The Cibernetico Returneth, bitches.

A trip to Europe that has nothing to do with a Final Countdown [Oct. 12th, 2005|12:53 pm]
[music |Five-Keep on Moving]

Man, I don't know where to start... I am back from Europe in one piece safe and sound, so much to talk about, so much will likely be forgotten, blah. I was awoken (is that a word?) Thursday morning with a phone call from a nice lady with not nice news. "Mr. Remsburg, your flight has been cancelled." Squeeze me? Baking powder? Not that big of a deal, as I ended up taking a train from Philadelphia to Newark, and it took less time than a flight would have. Whatever. I get to Newark airport, and am enjoying a magazine, when Tracy Smothers comes walking in. Hell yeah, the trip just got fun! Bruce Gray and Chris Sabin were also on our flight, one which I could not sleep on. I did get to watch Kicking and Screaming with Will Ferrell.

Once we attempt to enter England, we are thwarted by border patrol. They are not buying the ageless "just going to your nice country to train" excuse. You see, other countries don't like it when you go there to work, and make money, and consequently don't claim it on your tax returns, etc. I hope no border patrol folk read my livejournal. We are put on a bench for over 2 hours. Tracy, of course, had a plan. "Hey Sabin... Go over there to her (border patrol lady #3), and give her your finisher. They'll let us in then." OR this gem: "You boys believe in God? Time to start praying." Ahhh, if you know Tracy, that is likely funnier. Finally, a nice gentleman with a distinct lack of dental work lets us in England, and we wait for our cab. Pile in, Sabin goes to sleep, and Tracy starts telling stories. Awesome. To the very nice hotel, and now I am too excited to sleep, even though I am deadass tired. Fish and Chips for dinner, you know the expression, "when in England...". Al Snow, Jerry Lynn, and Blue Meanie are also at the dinner table. Excuse me, I seem to have dropped something. Whoops, is that a name?

My roommate Jumpin' Joe Dombrowski and I accompany the bossman to the arena to check out the venue. They even have crazy ice rinks in England! The steering wheel is on the right in the car, and I will never adjust to that. The fast lane is on the right, you merge in from the left. I was sitting the passenger seat of a car, which to me is the drivers seat. Wowie! Crazy! Later that night, a pack of us go to downtown Doncaster for a little nightlife. Sterling James Keenan is quite the pimp, signing bosoms and all. Oh yeah, I forgot, what happens on the road stays on the road, blah blah. I will say that British strip clubs leave a little to be desired. We finally hailed a cab, and back at the hotel bar the party was just starting with Raven and Sandman in the house. Ehhh, finally crashed for some sleep.

Saturday morning comes, and it's off to Downtown Doncaster for some clothes shopping with Uncle Kingdom and Joseph. Got to attend a football game, even walk out on the sidelines, in which they can't touch the ball and kick it a lot. 8000 fans in attendance that put wrestling fans to shame with creative chants. Al Snow wrestled a mascot, and I took pics. Then, finally, off to the show. Sat through the Q & A session, and then 1500 crazy Brits packed the building. Very professional setup, fans were into everything all night. Had the privilege of working with Al Snow again, and Jody Fleisch, Doug Williams, Raven, and Tommy Dreamer for the first time. Damn that Steve Corino for fooling me on the knee injury again! Long show, but extremely entertaining throughout. Some more socialization at the hotel with all the boys afterwards. This was one of my favorite parts, listening to people with years and years of experience talk about the business they love for hours. The passion and everything, absolutely awesome. I learned so much. Slept about 3 hours before a 6:30 wake up call, as I was headed for Germany!

Groggy carride with "Tremendous" Emil Sitoci, Iceman, and GTS. We get to Liverpool John Lennon Airport and find a huge yellow submarine. Ahhh, I get it. Hope the plane to Germany, no problems at customs this time. Europe's finest ref Tassilo Jung picks me up at the airport, and I find myself in the car with Robbie Brookside. Another guy with so much experience, and still so much passion for the business, a guy I had watched on tapes for years. Very nice to meet him. We arrive in Essen, Germany Sunday afternoon for the wXw show. First, we peruse downtown Essen, thanks to Mr. Jacobi for the tour. Naked breasts on ads, sex on the TVs in Burger King, we are not in Kansas anymore. Heard so many things about wXw, it was a privilege to finally experience it for myself. There is no guardrail, no chairs at wXw, the fans are right there, like a concert, or a drunken pep rally of some sort. When they start pounding on the mat, it feels like an earthquake is coming through. Fans treated me very well, as did the locker room. Hadn't seen Ares in over 2 years, and we got a chance to talk quite a bit. As good as Claudio is, Ares is just as good, and they compliment each other ridiculously well. Watched almost all of the show, and enjoyed it. Chicken Fajitas and strudel are eaten at a restaurant, and stuff is thrown across the room.

I'm so done typing for now. Gotta be boring for you, 'cause I am getting sick of it. I will finish the rest of the trip, along with some pics when I get back from the IWA tripleshot. Deal? In the meantime, leave some comment-shaped lovin'.

"But Hero, you haven't eaten all day..." "I know" [Sep. 26th, 2005|12:24 pm]
[music |The Bravery-An Honest Mistake]

For the most part, life is good. Things are well, and I am happy. Despite the fact that I am 4 months into NOT using my college education, I am having lots of fun and enjoying things. Wrestling couldn't be going better, I get paid to travel around with my friends every weekend, and I am constantly meeting new and exciting people. I have been getting to commentate, which is a learning experience, and actually vaguely resembles what I went to school for... A very busy fall is on the horizon as well, 14 shows in October, at least 11 shows in November so far.

Best of all, I am days away from the pinnacle of my career thus far. On Thursday night, I fly to Europe, all expenses paid, to referee wrestling matches. Insanity. I couldn't have dreamt this 3 1/2 years ago when I started training. I will be appearing for 1PW Wrestling(www.1p-w.com), in Doncaster, England on Saturday night. This will be 1PW's first show, and the line-up is amazing. I hope to get the opportunity to work with names I have never worked with before, and I understand the presale is in quadruple digits. Sounds like a party to me...

Also, things finally worked out that I will be reffing at wXw(www.wxw-wrestling.net) in Essen, Germany on Sunday night. wXw is a promotion I have followed for quite a while now, the home of Claudio Castagnoli. Quack and Hero have had nothing but extremely nice things to say about wXw as well. wXw announced I was coming for some reason, and people were actually excited I was coming on their message board. Mindblowing, for the simple fact I am no one. The next 3 days may be the longest of my life, as I anxiously anticipate this trip. Naturally, I shall tell you all about it right here in LJ land. I have Funky Joey Dombrowski, Uncle Kingdom James, Steven Gauntley, Birgit, Tas, Felix, and Sitoci to thank for making this possible, and carting my ass around. While I am over there, I will get to spend some time with friends from home and in Amsterdam, Netherlands. If you don't know, prostitution is legal there, and if there is one thing I love, it is fucking hookers. So needless to say, I will be doing lots of that.

This past weekend was the annual Ted Petty Invitational, or TPI to the layperson, held by IWA MidSouth in Hammond, IN. Always something to look forward to on the wrestling calendar, as these shows are on a big stage, and the tapes will be seen by many. Twas my third TPI. Also, the weekend I got to spend time with Kirsten for the first time in over 2 months. Yeehaw and hooray! My travel mates were Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, and lucha wizard Skayde. We left Friday morning and had an nice and easy drive in. Only 2 refs with 13 matches, and this guy ends up reffing 8 matches. Great stuff all night... Had the privilege of being in the ring with Quack/Shelley, American Dragon/Claudio, and Jimmy/Cabana, among others. Reffed for Joey Ryan and PUMA for the first time. Found out Cabana is a Secret Pants fan. Post show, a good old party time was had at The Wagon Wheel, and it was off to the glorious Motel 6 for some needed sleep, but not just yet. I kicked Kirsten's ass awhile on the bed, because that's the only to set a woman straight. The power of tickle is underrated. Caught Claudio sleeping in the laundry room. I "accidentally" bumped a garbage can over, and Kevin Steen "accidentally" ran into it, and it "accidentally" made a loud noise. Security Steve had a talk with us, and was generally bitter, probably for the fact he only makes $7 an hour. Watched a firecracker headbutt in Delirious' room.

Next morning, awoke earlier than I wanted to, and then lunch was had at the Taco Bell. American Dragon told us stories of Bobby Quance's friend Tim, and his amazing high school adventures. I laughed ridiculously hard. A baby wanted to fight too, but we let him off this once. Off to the Q & A session. Questions were asked, answers were given. I got to moderate this year, which gave me something to do, and sat and giggled with Hero and Joshua Abercrombie most of the time. Later, a wrestling show was held. It lasted 6 hours, but what I saw was very entertaining. Had the privilege of being in the ring with Quack/Skayde, Hero/Dragon, Cannon/Delirious, Hero/Cannon, a preeeeposterous 8-man tag, and my second year of reffing the finals. Back to the Wagon Wheel again, at long last, then to the Steer, where we said goodbye to Rex and Kirsten. Not fun. Cue sad face. 12 hours home, 11 hours of sleep, and I am a new man.

On the way home, an idea was devised that involves making a T-shirt that says "Got Gotch?" on the front, and "Hackenscmidt Happens" on the back. Being that I work at a screenprinting shop, this can easily become reality. I am just curious if anyone would be interested in buying them for say, $10... Whadda you think, any takers? Comment away! Lunch over, back to meaningless existence at work.

Happy anniversary, Kirsten >.

If I had a million dollars... [Sep. 13th, 2005|01:01 pm]
[music |Barenaked Ladies-If I Had A Million Dollars]

...I would buy Claudio Castagnoli a nice reliant automobile. Or a llama, or an emu.

Very exhausting, and high stress weekend in the books. Friday morning at 2AM, Chris Hero, Double C, and myself departed Reading, PA headed westbound. Our vehicle of choice is Claudio's spanking new Chrysler. Large trunk, roomy backseat, the optimal roadtrip mobile. We make a pitstop in the Pittsburgh. See how I did that? I graduated from Clever College. Wait on Shirley Doe (or is it Shirley Slow?) and pick up KUDO. Now we are headed towards the second city of Chicago, IL. Two Starbucks employees mistake the three of us for brothers at a travel plaza in Indiana. Arrive at Trik Davis' casa with only 2 hours for sleep. Bigtime crazy IWA MidSouth action in Midlothian, IL. Seeing all the peeps, the Jimmy Jacobs(O-KAY!), the Arik Cannon, the Josh Abercrombie, the SaraH... Get to ref for James Gibson, he is very nice, and gave me some awesome pointers after the match.

Dinner and funtimes afterwards? Nay! We have to be back in Philadelphia at 2PM! Hit the road with no food, and things are crusing along nicely. This guy is sleeping in the backseat. When we are nearing Shitts..., ahem, Pittsburgh on the way home, I start to hear the rumble strips repeatedly, and I wake up to see one pissed off Swiss guy. Something is definitely wrong with his new car. (Sidenote: Claudio bought a radical van last winter, the "Buffalo Spirit", unfortunately, it became apparent that it was a piece of crap, and sucked gas like there was no tomorrow...) We pull off to drop KUDO off, and try to find someone who will look at transmissions. This took about an hour, because the car in question doesn't like hills, because it was having extreme trouble accelerating. We also got crummy directions, and Pittsburgh is full of hills and idiots. (No offense, IWC amigos and Harold Potter, you know who you are.) We finally end up at a place with a sweet old lady, and nice man named Kip, and a loud dog named Vicky. They patch Claudio's car, warning him that it may not make it back to Philly. We've no choice but to take our chances. Well, in a perfect world, we would have made it to Philly at 4PM, when belltime for the Chris Cash memorial show was 2PM.

We get about 2 hours up the road, and whooshbangboom, the car is done. Pull over, call AAA, wait for the towtruck. Ugh. At least the towtruck was nice, and the driver was a wrestling fan, even if he was missing a finger. Ride another 90 minutes to Harrisburg, PA, and eat some ice cream, that makes everything better. Wait for a very nice young lady to pick us up and we eventually make it to Philly and the CZW evening show. We spent 32 out of 38 consecutive hours traveling, and missed a show. We all three HATE missing shows. Sooo tired. Ugh. This wasn't a very fun entry I guess, next time I will say something more exciting, like maybe talk about strippers, retards, and racism that is North Carolina... In conclusion, the King was right, this trip = bad idea. Can't say it wasn't memorable, though. If you have a car, give it to Claudio. And some ice too, Necro Butcher does not play.
